The Butler County Flying Club, Inc., was formed on November 26, 1954, for the purpose of “encouraging interest in aviation, providing education and training for its members at economical rates, . . . and bringing to more people the social benefits and pleasures of general aviation activity.” That purpose will continue as we re-organize the Club. We plan to add more information about our organization as it becomes available.
As of right now we are trying to get a little more organized and establish some bylaws. Our meetings are held every third Thursday of the month at 7:00PM at the Poplar Bluff airport. We are also in the process of trying to find/buy an airplane. We hope to start organizing some more social activities soon. You can contact the Poplar Bluff Airport at 573-686-8669 for the exact time and details.
Membership dues are $50 per year per household and can be mailed to …

The cost for flying member will be determined at a later date and will depend on what make and model airplane we buy as well as other cost. More than likely we are looking at around a $2000 buy in with a discounted hourly rate. Each flying member will be assessed periodically as variable costs change (i.e. fuel, insurance, maintenance fees, etc). Also as a flying member, flight instruction can be provided at a discounted rate by one of our club instructors.
Our next scheduled meeting will be Thursday, June 17 7:00p.m. at the Poplar Bluff airport. Agenda to be posted soon.
