Poplar Bluff AirportThe Butler County Flying Club, Inc., was formed on November 26, 1954, for the purpose of “encouraging interest in aviation, providing education and training for its members at economical rates, . . . and bringing to more people the social benefits and pleasures of general aviation activity.”  That purpose will continue as we re-organize the Club. We plan to add more information about our organization as it becomes available.

As of right now we are trying to get a little more organized and establish some bylaws. Our meetings are held every third Thursday of the month at 7:00PM at the Poplar Bluff airport. We are also in the process of trying to find/buy an airplane. We hope to start organizing some more social activities soon. You can contact the Poplar Bluff Airport at 573-686-8669 for the exact time and details.

Membership dues are $50 per year per household and can be mailed to …

The cost for flying member will be determined at a later date and will depend on what make and model airplane we buy as well as other cost. More than likely we are looking at around a $2000 buy in with a discounted hourly rate. Each flying member will be assessed periodically as variable costs change (i.e. fuel, insurance, maintenance fees, etc). Also as a flying member, flight instruction can be provided at a discounted rate by one of our club instructors.

Our next scheduled meeting will be Thursday, June 17 7:00p.m. at the Poplar Bluff airport.  Agenda to be posted soon.
